here’s what happened in 2023 for the sl30 creative challenge:

sl30 hopeful futures Challenge for 2023 is now closed

The SL30 Creative Challenge challenged children and young people, aged 7 to 18 years old, to envision a world beyond discrimination and convey their vision of hope through various creative mediums.

Our theme, Hopeful Futures, took inspiration from the work of Stephen’s mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, and her family in advocating for a hopeful and fairer society for all.

The Challenge received creative submissions from children and young people from across the nation that reflected the wider themes at the heart of our initiative such as love, family, care, change and friendship.

The Hopeful Futures Exhibition toured to the Leicester Gallery at De Montfort University and The Stephen Lawrence Gallery at the University of Greenwich, London in 2023. We would like to thank our amazing partners for showcasing the work, vision and voices of young people from across the UK.
